John Remsen is well qualified to head up all client services in the Midwest. He has been on the banker side as well as the agency side of the business. Through the decades, John has tackled financial marketing challenges, helped banks ride the waves of economic turmoil, and served in all areas of the financial services industry. He is seasoned and savvy.
John Remsen, Account Executive
John Remsen serves as a director of client relations in the Midwest. At FMS, his
client services range from relationship development to goal setting, marketing strategy, communication and successful marketing plan launches. Keeping the client and agency on the same page at all times requires a strong listening ear and a diplomatic edge. John serves as the liaison between our clients in the Midwest and the creative team, ensuring that goals are met, budgets are adhered to and promotions are launched successfully.
Prior to joining FMS, John enjoyed a career in Illinois banking. He served as bank president and CEO of Herget National Bank and First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust, as well as a senior vice president and executive vice president at Busey Bank. His background includes retail banking, strategic planning, sales management and marketing. A proven leader, John has the advantage of having a banker’s perspective; he has been responsible for the performance of entire banks, and brings that wealth of experience to clients at FMS. He also has plenty of agency experience, having owned and operated his own agency, The Marcom Group, which served 50+ community banks in the Midwest for 10 years before being acquired.
With an MBA from DePaul University in Finance and Accounting and an AB from Dartmouth College in Economics, John’s educational background laid the foundation for his many accolades and accomplishments. John is a graduate of the School of Bank Marketing as well as the Cannon Financial Institute’s Trust School. He held the designations of Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and Professional Plan Consultant as designated by Financial Service Standards. He served as a board member and president of ABA’s Bank Marketing Association
A man of wide pursuits, John is married with three sons, and likes to golf, garden, exercise and antique.
